Warehouse Team Leader
Job Opportunity: Warehouse Team Leader
Location: T.A.N.G.O. Warehouse, Park Street, Haydock, WA11 0BG
Hours: 25 hours per week, to be taken between 9am – 2:45pm (22 hours including 15 minutes unpaid break) plus 3 hours flexi time, Monday to Thursday
Contract: Permanent, subject to a successful 6-month probationary period
Salary:
Real Living Wage – £12.60 per hour (subject to normal PAYE and NI deductions)
Holidays: 6.8 weeks per annum, pro rata for hours worked (inclusive of Bank Holidays)
Notice Period: 4 weeks (increases by one week per year of service after 5 years, up to a maximum of 12 weeks)
DBS: Enhanced DBS Check Required
Other Benefits: Pension scheme available
About the Role:
Join the T.A.N.G.O. Community Project as a Warehouse Team Leader, serving the community through this outreach ministry of St Mark’s Church. You will act as an ambassador for T.A.N.G.O. and St Mark’s Church, connecting individuals with community services, and be responsible for the day-to-day running and delivery of warehouse services.
Key Responsibilities (Summary):
- Lead and supervise a team of volunteers, ensuring safe and effective warehouse operations
- Drive the T.A.N.G.O. van for collections and deliveries, maintaining vehicle records and safety
- Manage stock, donations, and waste, keeping accurate digital records
- Promote T.A.N.G.O. and St Mark’s services to customers and visitors
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational standards
Key Attributes (Summary):
Essential:
- Positive, motivated, and organised, with a welcoming attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to prioritise and work flexibly
- Physically capable of lifting and moving furniture
- Respect for the Christian ethos of the organisation
- Full UK driving licence and accurate handling of money
Desirable:
- Experience in a warehouse or stock room environment
- Active member of a Christian church and passionate about outreach
- Confident in using social media for community engagement
- Keen eye for detail
- Understanding of T.A.N.G.O.’s ministry and outreach work

- Help coordinate and supervise a team of volunteers
- Promote T.A.N.G.O. and St Mark’s services to customers and visitors
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational standards
- Maintain accurate digital records of stock, donations, and waste
- Support the safe disposal and recycling of waste materials
- Be an active ambassador for T.A.N.G.O. and St Mark’s Church
